With the entry-level turntable connected to a portable speaker in my test set-up, that kind of detail is probably being lost anyway. My equipment (and ears) simply aren’t finely-tuned enough to make the distinction. In terms of much less obvious vibration that might still affect the quality of audio playback on a turntable, I’m afraid I can’t say one way or another. It also protected the turntable from other sources of skip-inducing vibration, including our large dogs running through my office. I was able to play records on the turntable without them skipping. I can confirm, the the zaZen does indeed isolate what’s sitting on it from vibration. The zaZen's glossy black finish will complement most turntables, but fits in particularly well with. In other words, the perfect conditions to test out the zaZen’s claim to isolate whatever is on it from vibration. Naturally, any attempt to play a record during hours where the equipment was operating ended poorly. I had to take everything off the shelves in my office for fear the vibration would topple anything left out. During daylight hours, heavy machinery rumbled up and down the street - with work often taking place right on my front law. The street I live on was under construction, with water mains being dug up, the roadway excavated and completely rebuilt, and new sidewalks installed. And they were no match for the conditions I experienced this fall.
